There are two options AUTO and MANUAL. Auto Clock Set AUTO automatically sets the clock in the VCR to the current time and date. AUTO works only in areas where Data Service (DS) signals are provided along with normal TV signals. Notes: We recommend that you set the clock using the MANUAL method the first time you use your VCR. The clock must be set before you can record by using the TIMER. You can specify eight different events to be recorded in a one-year period. REPEAT OPTIONS ONCE -- Records once. DAILY -- Records one time each day, Monday - Friday. Press QUIT/CC CHANNEL OPTIONS To select an AUX channel, select the next highest or lowest channel programmed in the VCR with the CH (w/v). Timer will be on when VCR is off SPEED OPTIONS (SP or EP) The SP mode determines how much tape is left and switches speed from SP to EP, if necessary, to complete recording the program. There will be some picture and sound distortion at the point of the speed change. Choose TIMER menu as described in "How to Access Menus" on page 9. Press QUIT/CC to exit the menu system, the "Timer will be on when VCR is off" message will appear. If you press MENU to exit the Timer menu system, and the main menu will appear and the program will be memorized at the VCR. Note: Set the VCR in TIMER mode by pressing POWER to turn off the VCR. Choose TIMER menu as described in "How to Access Menus" on page 9. [. . . ] The TIMER indicator light appears in the VCR front panel to indicate the VCR is in the TIMER recording mode. Before Calling for Service Please refer to this chart before calling for service. Select appropriate input for the TV to receive the video signal from the VCR. Place the VCR in the VCR mode by pressing TV/VCR on the remote repeatedly until VCR indicator light appears in the VCR front panel.
