[. . . ] You may find it helpful to pull your ear slightly upward or to the back. Place your hearing instrument behind your ear and turn it on by completely closing the battery compartment. To remove your hearing instrument hold the receiver unit between your thumb and index finger and carefully pull it out. Note: Do not use lubricant when you insert the receiver unit, because it may clog the sound outlet. 5 5 Turning your CIELO 2 Active on and off To turn on Fully close the battery compartment to turn the instrument ON. To turn off Press the battery compartment downward to the first stop to turn the instrument OFF. ON Power-on delay OFF Your CIELO 2 Active hearing instrument is equipped with a "power-on delay" feature which can be activated by your Hearing Care Professional. [. . . ] The charger consists of two charging slots, which hold two CIELO 2 Active hearing instruments, and a larger cavity, which provides space for the attached receiver units with domes. Each LED indicates the functional states of the corresponding charging slot 3a / 3b. When you place your CIELO 2 Active hearing instrument in one of the charging slots and the lid is closed, the instrument is switched off and the recharging process automatically initiated. The hearing instrument is turned off after you removed it from the charger. 11 7 Using the charger The intelligent charger's LEDs indicate the charging status, as detailed in the guide below: LED Middle LED Left or right LED Left or right LED Left or right LED State orange green blinking green constant red constant Functionality Connection to power supply Ongoing charging process Charging process finished If the charging process cannot be initiated because of standard or malfunctioning rechargeable battery or incorrect polarity, the charger switches off automatically. The charger needs up to 3 minutes to recognize these failures. Consequence Charger ready to use Leave hearing instrument in charger Remove hearing instrument from charger Remove plug and reinsert it into the socket again 12 Change the batteries or recharge when any of the following occur: Volume of your instrument becomes softer or weak You hear the low battery beeps ePocket display shows empty battery status Warning: Keep batteries and instruments out of the reach of children. If swallowed consult a physician or a hospital immediately. Note: Do not throw used batteries into household trash. Return them to your Hearing Care Professional for environmentally correct disposal. 13 8 Using the domes Your dome includes an integrated C-Guard wax protection system. Cleaning Cerumen (ear wax) on the dome or C-Guard may affect sound quality. No other tools are required. Note: Never use brushes or sharp objects for cleaning or they may damage the dome or C-Guard. For best results, it is recommended that you change your dome including C-Guard approximately every three months, or as needed. 14 Replacement of the dome Holding the receiver unit in one hand, grasp the dome between the thumb and index finger of your other hand. Leave the dome in the box and press the tip of the receiver unit into the new dome as shown in the picture. If the dome is not mounted correctly the sound quality will be affected. Check and readjust the dome in this case. Caution: Do not place the receiver into your ear without the dome. If the dome gets detached in your ear, consult your Hearing Care Professional, a physician, or hospital. 15 9 Using the clip-on cover The clip-on cover is a barrier that protects your microphones from sweat, humidity and moisture. Change the clip-on cover when the sound is diminished or the clip-on cover is soiled. Removing Notice: The clip-on cover can be damaged easily when bend over too much. Follow the instructions carefully and change the clip-on cover only when necessary. Ask your Hearing Care Professional for assistance if it is not possible for you to change it by yourself. [. . . ] Do not use water, alcohol or other solvents on your CIELO 2 Active instrument, and never immerse it in water. For further instructions on cleaning and maintenance of your CIELO 2 Active, consult your hearing care professional. 19 13 Important notes Caution: As with all electrical, non-gas-encapsulated systems, the hearing instrument should not be operated in rooms where there is a danger of explosion. Do not wear your hearing instrument during short-wave therapy, or in conjunction with medical treatments that use strong magnetic or highfrequency fields, such as magnetic resonance tomography and x-rays, or near microwave ovens. Note: Never expose your hearing instrument to extreme temperatures or high humidity. When not wearing your instrument for long periods of time, remove the batteries. [. . . ]
