SQT0025 until 2014/1/24 Read this first ∫ About the recording format for recording motion pictures You can select from AVCHD*1, MP4 or iFrame recording formats to record motion pictures using this unit. AVCHD: It is suitable for viewing on a high-definition TV or for saving to disc*2. *2 The following methods are available for saving an image recorded in 1080/50p: j Copy the image to a disc using the supplied software HD Writer LE 2. 1. j Copy the image to a Panasonic Blu-ray disc recorder that supports AVCHD Progressive. [. . . ] Before you delete the data on the media after copying is complete, be sure to play back the USB HDD to check that they have been copied to correctly. (l 119) - 116 - ∫ Formatting This is for initialising the USB HDD. ≥ Please be aware that if a media is formatted then all the data recorded on the media is erased and cannot be recovered. ≥ Connect this unit to the USB HDD and touch [Playback HDD] MENU : [SETUP] # [FORMAT MEDIA] # [HDD] ≥ When formatting is complete, touch [EXIT] to exit the message screen. You may no longer be able to use the USB HDD if you format them on another device such as a PC etc. ∫ Displaying media information The used space of the USB HDD can be checked. ≥ Connect this unit to the USB HDD and touch [Playback HDD] MENU : [SETUP] # [MEDIA STATUS] ≥ HC-V550 / HC-V530 / HC-V250 / HC-V230 If you touch [CHANGE MEDIA], you can switch the display between the SD card and USB HDD. HC-V550M If you touch [CHANGE MEDIA], you can switch the display between the SD card, built-in memory, and USB HDD. Simple copy 1 2 3 4 5 Connect this unit to the USB HDD to prepare for copying. (l 115) Touch [Simple copy]. ≥ When [Copy selected files] or [Playback HDD] is selected, terminate the connection with the USB HDD (l 119), and then perform the operation of Step 1. Touch the media you want to copy. Touch [EXIT] when the copy complete message is displayed. HC-V550M ≥ The thumbnail view of the copy destination is indicated. Touch the scene or still picture to be played back and then play it back. ≥ When playing back on a TV, connect this unit to the TV. (l 106) ≥ The playback operation is performed the same as when playing back motion pictures or still pictures. When the USB HDD is connected, the (USB HDD) can be selected from the displayed media types.
