[. . . ] It is designed to detect the load balance of CPU while running programs, and to adjust the best frequency automatically. W hen the mainboard detects system is running programs, it will speed up automatically to make the program run smoothly and faster. W hen the system is temporarily suspending or staying in the low load balance, it will restore the default settings instead. Usually the Dynamic Overclocking Technology will be powered only when users' PC need to run huge amount of data like 3D games or the video process, and the CPU and PCIE frequency need to be boosted up to enhance the overall performance. 3-20 BIOS Setup Important Even though the Dynamic Overclocking Technology is more stable than manual overclocking, basically, it is still risky. We suggest user to make sure that your CPU / memory modules can afford to overclocking regularly first. If you find the PC appears to be unstable or reboot incidentally, it's better to dis able the Dy namic O v erc loc k ing or to lower the lev el of overclocking options. By the way, if you need to conduct overclocking manually, you also need to disable the Dynamic OverClocking first. Intel EIST The Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology allows you to set the performance level of the microprocessor whether the computer is running on battery or AC power. This field will appear after you installed the CPU which support speedstep technology. Adjust CPU FSB Frequency (M Hz) This item allows you to set the CPU FSB frequency (in MHz). This item will disappear after you set the Adjusted CPU FSB Frequency (MHz) It shows the adjusted CPU frequency (FSB x Ratio). Advance DRAM Configuration Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu and the following screen appears. Configure DRAM Timing by SPD Setting to [Auto] enables DRAM CAS# Latency automatically to be determined by BIOS based on the configurations on the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) EEPROM on the DRAM module. MEMORY-Z Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu and the following screen appears. 3-21 M S-7514 M ainboard DIM M1~4 Memory SPD Infromation Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu and the following screen appears. DIM M1~4 Memory SPD Infromation These items display the current status of the current DIMM Memory speed information such as memory type, max bandwidth, manufacture, part number, serial number, SDRAM cycle time, DRAM TCL, DRAM TRCD, DRAM TRP, DRAM TRAS, DRAM TRFC, DRAM TWR, DRAM TWTR, DRAM TRRD and DRAM TRTP. FSB/DRAM Ratio This item will allow you to adjust the ratio of FSB to memory. Adjusted DRAM Frequency (MHz) It shows the adjusted DDR Memory frequency. Auto Disable DRAM /PCI Frequency W hen set to [Enabled], the system will remove (turn off) clocks from empty DIMM and PCI slots to minimize the electromagnetic interference (EMI). CPU Voltage (V) / DRAM Voltage (V) / NB Voltage (V) / VTT FSB Voltage(V) / SB Voltage (V) These items are used to asjust the voltage of CPU, Memory, FSB and chipset. Spread Spectrum W hen the mainboard's clock generator pulses, the extreme values (spikes) of the pulses create EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). The Spread Spectrum function reduces the EMI generated by modulating the pulses so that the spikes of the pulses are reduced to flatter curves. If you do not have any EMI problem, leave the setting at Disabled for optimal system stability and performance. Remember to disable Spread Spectrum if you are overclocking because even a slight jitter can introduce a temporary boost in clock speed which may just cause your overclocked processor to lock up. 3-22 BIOS Setup Important 1. If you do not have any EMI problem, leave the setting at [Disabled] for optimal system stability and performance. But if you are plagued by EMI, select the value of Spread Spectrum for EMI reduction. [. . . ] You should be prompted to insert a floppy disk containing the JMicron RAID driver into the A: drive. Important Please follow the instruction below to make an "JMicron RAID Driver" for yourself. Copy all the contents in the for XP: \\IDE\JM icron\Floppy32 (for 32-bit OS) or Floppy64 (for 64-bit OS) to a formatted floppy disk. for Vista: \\IDE\JMicron\Floppy32 (for 32-bit OS) or Floppy64 (for 64bit OS) to a medium (floppy disk/ CD/DVD or USB). W hen prompted, insert the floppy disk you created in step 3 and press Enter. [. . . ]
