The followng aspect appears n CatalystTM Control Center: Select the Advanced Vew from the vew drop menu. Important A CrossFreXTM system has four possble dsplay modes: · SuperTlng · Scssor Mode · Alternate Frame Renderng · Super Ant-alasng. for more detals, please consult the graphcs card manual from the manufacturer. 2-22 MS-7599 Led StatuS indicatorS CPU Phase LEDs SOCKET AM3 CPU Phase LEDs These LEDs ndcate the current CPU power phase mode. CPU s n 4 phase power mode. 2-23 Chapter 3 BIOS Setup Ths chapter provdes nformaton on the BIOS Setup program and allows you to configure the system for optmum use. You may need to run the Setup program when: An error message appears on the screen durng the system bootng up, and requests you to run SETUP. You want to change the default settngs for customzed features. 2-3-1 BIOS Setup entering Setup Power on the computer and the system wll start POST (Power On Self Test) process. When the message below appears on the screen, press <DEL> key to enter Setup. Press DEL to enter SETUP If the message dsappears before you respond and you stll wsh to enter Setup, restart the system by turnng t OFF and On or pressng the RESET button. You may also restart the system by smultaneously pressng <Ctrl>, <Alt>, and <Delete> keys. Important · The tems under each BIOS category descrbed n ths chapter are under contnuous update for better system performance. Therefore, the descrpton may be slghtly dfferent from the latest BIOS and should be held for reference only. · Upon boot-up, the 1st lne appearng after the memory count s the BIOS verson. It s usually n the format: A7599AMS V10. X 030810 where: 1st dgt refers to BIOS maker as A = AMI, W = AWARD, and P = PHOENIX. 6th dgt refers to the chpset as I = Intel, N = NVIDIA, A = AMD and V = VIA. 030810 refers to the date ths BIOS was released. 3-2 MS-7599 Control Keys <> <> <> <> <Enter> <Esc> <+/PU> <-/PD> <F1> <F6> <F8> <F10> Move to the prevous tem Move to the next tem Move to the tem n the left hand Move to the tem n the rght hand Select the tem Jumps to the Ext menu or returns to the man menu from a submenu Increase the numerc value or make changes Decrease the numerc value or make changes General Help Load Optmzed Defaults Load Fal-Safe Defaults Save all the CMOS changes and ext Gettng Help After enterng the Setup menu, the first menu you wll see s the Man Menu. Man Menu The man menu lsts the setup functons you can make changes to. The on-lne descrpton of the hghlghted setup functon s dsplayed at the bottom of the screen. Sub-Menu If you find a rght ponter symbol (as shown n the rght vew) appears to the left of certan fields that means a sub-menu can be launched from ths field. You can use arrow keys ( ) to hghlght the field and press <Enter> to call up the sub-menu. Then you can use the control keys to enter values and move from field to field wthn a sub-menu. If you want to return to the man menu, just press the <Esc >. General Help <F1> The BIOS setup program provdes a General Help screen. The Help screen lsts the approprate keys to use and the possble selectons for the hghlghted tem. Press <Esc> to ext the Help screen. 3-3 BIOS Setup the Main Menu Standard CMOS Features Use ths menu for basc system configuratons, such as tme, date etc. Advanced BIOS Features Use ths menu to setup the tems of the BIOS specal enhanced features. Integrated Perpherals Use ths menu to specfy your settngs for ntegrated perpherals. [. . . ] The Man Menu s used to choose the operaton to be performed. B-2 MS-7599 Vew Drves Assgnments Ths wndow dsplays the model number, capactes and assgnment of the drves physcally attached to the SATA host adapter. B-3 AMD RAID LD Vew / LD Define Menu (Creatng RAID) The selecton of the RAID configuraton should be based upon factors ncludng performance, data securty, and the number of drves avalable. It s best to carefully consder the long-term role of the system and plan the data storage strategy. RAID sets can be created ether automatcally, or to allow the greatest flexblty, manually. Use the space key to choose a RAID mode (RAID 0/ 1/ 10/ 5) and use the arrow key to move to the "Drves Assgnments" wndow. B-4 MS-7599 Strpe Block Sze, the default 64KB s best for most applcatons.
