The settings are Floppy, LS120, HDD-0/HDD1/HDD-2/HDD-3, SCSI, CDROM, LAN, ZIP100, and Disabled. Boot Other Device This option allows you to enable/disable the booting of other additional device. Swap Floppy Drive If the system has two floppy drives, choose Enabled to assign physical drive B to logical drive A and vice-versa. Boot Up Floppy Seek When this item is enabled during POST, BIOS will determine if the floppy disk drive installed is 40 or 80 tracks. Floppy Disk Access Control You can select R/W to read and add data to the floppy disk or Read Only to read data from the floppy disk. Boot Up NumLock Status This option allows you to select the power on state for NumLock. When the default value Fast is selected, the Gate A20 is controlled by Port 92 or chipset specific method resulting in faster system performance. When Normal is selected, A20 is controlled by a keyboard controller or chipset hardware. 3-9 Chapter 3 Typematic Rate Setting Key strokes repeat at a rate determined by the keyboard controller. MPS Version Control For OS This option allows you to control the MPS version for OS. OS Select For DRAM > 64MB This allows you to run the OS/2® operating system with DRAM greater than 64MB. Video BIOS Shadow Shadowing is a technique used to increase a computer's speed by using highspeed RAM memory in place of slower ROM memory. This setting enables/ disables the video BIOS to shadow into memory area C0000-C7FFF. Small Logo(EPA) Show This item allows you to show the company logo on the bootup screen. Settings are: Disabled (shows the POST messages at boot) and Enabled (shows a still logo on the full screen at boot). 3-10 AWARD® BIOS Setup Advanced Chipset Features The Advanced Chipset Features Setup option is used to change the values of the chipset registers. Choose the "ADVANCED CHIPSET FEATURES" from the Main Menu and the following screen will appear. System BIOS Cacheable System BIOS ROM at F000h-F0000h is always copied to RAM for faster execution. Selecting Enabled allows the contents of F0000h RAM memory segment to be written to and read from cache memory, resulting in better system performance.
