Turning the power on/ off when an external drive is connected ■ Turning the power on ✧ Turn on the power of the external drive(s), and then turn on the power of the CR4. 2 Press the [EDIT] key, and then press the [SYSTEM] key several times to make the display read “DiskUtil”. DiskUtil ˙ EDIT SYSTEM E Press the [ ] key, and then press the [SYSTEM] key several times to make the display read “Initial”. ■ Turning the power off ✧ When turning the power off, first turn off the power of the CR4, and then turn off the power of the external drives. However if the currently selected song is on a removable disk drive, turning off the power of the CR4 when the disk is still in the drive will make it impossible to remove the disk even if you press the eject key of the removable disk drive. As necessary, remove the disk as follows before you turn off the power. If the currently selected song is not on a removable disk drive, you can press the eject key of the removable disk drive to remove the disk. 1 Press and hold the [ ] and [ ] keys to get the “Eject→✽?” display which asks whether you wish to eject a disk (✽ is the SCSI ID A–G of the drive). 4 3 Initial œ Press the [ ] key, and then rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the drive number (SCSI ID A–G) that you wish to initialize or format. If you wish to backup all songs in the currently selected drive, rotate the [VALUE] dial to select 1-✽✽ (All). If you wish to backup an individual song, leave this setting unchanged. Press the [ ] key, and then rotate the [VALUE] dial to specify the backup destination drive (A–G). 6 The save destination song number can be specified øB:RM 100œ Song data extending over multiple disks cannot be saved A hard disk drive or removable disk drive can be used 7 Press the [ ] key, and the display will indicate the number of disks that you will need. Prepare the appropriate number of disks of the same capacity as the disk that is currently in the drive. If you wish to save a song by copying it to an external hard disk drive or removable disk drive, refer to “Copying a song” (p. 35). This section will explain how to backup a song to a removable disk drive. Korg will accept no responsibility for any loss of data which may result from failure to backup/ restore correctly. 8 øx02Disksœ Press the [ ] key, and the contents of the backup will be displayed. The display will indicate “Over Wrtok?”, asking you to confirm that you wish to overwrite the backup destination disk. If you wish to execute the backup operation, press and hold the [ ] key for approximately one second. I**øB**ok? 41 Operation Press the [ ] key, and then rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the drive which contains the song that you wish to backup. If you are backing up an individual song, press the [ ] key and then rotate the [VALUE] dial to select the song number as well. 9 If the backup extends across multiple disks, the first disk will be ejected when it is full, and the display will indicate “InsNextDsk”, asking you to insert the second disk. Remove the first disk and insert the second, and the operation will continue. 5 Press the [ ] key.
