[. . . ] REMOVE THE SERVICE BLOCK OF THE GUN SERVICE KIT FROM THE GUN­ Using the 5/16" Spintite; disconnect the Service Block from the gun. REMOVE AND CLEAN CLOSURE SCREWS- See the Closure Screw Removal and Service Procedure section of this manual. REMOVE AND CLEAN CENTERLINE COMPONENTS- See the Centerline Component Removal and Service Procedure section of this manual. Important: At this time it is a good idea to inspect the Module Retainer, Module, and Gun Block for build up of material and clean them as required. 7. 8. 7/8/04 13 Long Shot Pour Gun SERVICING PROCEDURES Closure Screw Removal and Service Procedure TOOLS REQUIRED · · 5/16" Spintite Clean Out Drills · · Pin Vise Flush Can WARNING: BE SURE TO CLEAN THE "CENTER LINE COMPONENTS" USING THE GUN SERVICE KIT PRIOR TO REMOVAL FOR SERVICING AS THEY ARE EXPOSED TO THE CHEMICAL. SEE THE CLEANING PROCEDURES SECTION OF THIS MANUAL. NOTE: This procedure should be used to clear minor clogs and blockages. Clear severe blockages using the steps referred to in the Cleaning Procedure and Centerline Component Removal and Service Procedure Sections of this manual. 1. 2. CLOSE BOTH MANUAL VALVESREMOVE THE CLOSURE SCREWS- Using the 5/16" Spintite; unthread the Closure Screws from the Gun Block. If there are solid particles attached to the Closure Screws soak them in Gun Cleaning Solvent TRIGGER THE GUN- Trigger the Gun and hold it in place to allow clearance for cleaning the Closure Screw Cavities with the Clean Out Drills. CLEAN THE CLOSURE SCREW CAVITIES- With the Gun triggered, remove any particles with a combination of cleaning solvent from the Flush Can, and Clean Out Drills. 3. 4. WARNING: DO NOT RELEASE THE TRIGGER WHILE CLEANING THE CLEAN OUT CLOSURE SCREW CAVITIES WITH THE CLEAN OUT DRILLS. CHECK COMPONENT PRESSURES- Check the Pressure Gauges on the Proportioning Unit of both components to ensure that they are balanced. REPLACE THE CLOSURE SCREWS- Using the 5/16" Spintite replace the Closure Screws. Make sure the screws are tight to insure the integrity of the metal to metal seal. RESUME POURING- 6. 7. 14 37943-1, Issue 1 Operating Manual Servicing Procedure Centerline Component Removal and Service Procedure TOOLS REQUIRED · · · · · 6" Adjustable Wrench 3/16" Hex Key 5/16" Open End Wrench Cotton Swabs Brass Brush · · · · · 1/2" Open End Wrench 3/8" Open End Wrench 5/16" Spintite Lubriplate Grease or equivalent Clean Out Drills The Center Line Components consist of the following: Figure 8. Centerline Component Removal WARNING: DISCONNECT THE CHEMICAL HOSES AND AIRLINE BEFORE SERVICING THE GUN. IN ADDITION, BE SURE TO CLEAN THE "CENTER LINE COMPONENTS" WITH THE GUN SERVICE KIT PRIOR TO REMOVAL FOR SERVICING AS THEY ARE EXPOSED TO THE CHEMICAL 1. ENGAGE THE SAFETYCLOSE BOTH MANUAL VALVESREMOVE MODULE RETAINER- Using the 6" Adjustable Wrench, remove the Module Retainer. LOOSEN THE REAR SEAL NUT- Using the 1/2" Open End Wrench, back out the Rear Seal Nut one or two turns. 4. 5. 7/8/04 15 Long Shot Pour Gun NOTE: By removing the Rear Seal Nut entirely the Rear Seal can be removed and replaced. 6. REMOVE THE GUN BLOCK- Using the 3/16" Hex Key, remove the Gun Block Retaining Screw. Carefully slide the Gun Block away from the Valving Rod and Air Cylinder. If dried chemical has built up on the Gun Block removal may be difficult. REMOVE THE VALVING ROD- Using the 5/16" Open End Wrench, on the hex shaped Valving Rod Shank and the 3/8" Open End Wrench on the Jam Nut loosen the Jam Nut by turning it counter clockwise. (As viewed from the front of the gun. ) Remove the Valving Rod by unthreading it from the Piston Assembly. CLEAN ALL COMPONENTS THOROUGHLY BEFORE REASSEMBLYUsing the appropriate Brass Brushes, Clean Out Drills, etc. [. . . ] Replace the O-Rings and apply a thin coat of Lubriplate to the O-Rings REMOVE THE VALVE LINER- Attempt to pull the Valve Liner out of the gun handle through the trigger hole. REMOVE REAR 1/8" HEX NIPPLE- Leaving the Safety Slide Valve and Air Hose in place, use the 6" Adjustable Wrench to remove the 1/8" Hex Nipple. REMOVE THE REAR INTERNAL 1/16" PIPE PLUG- Deeper in the hole that the 1/8" Hex Nipple was removed from locate the 1/16" Pipe Plug. Remove that Plug using the 5/32" Hex Key. NOTE: Follow Steps 8 through 16 to replace the O-rings on the Valve Liner. [. . . ]
