PRECAUTIONS
COPYRIGHT: · Distributing copies of MP3, WMA, WMA with DRM tracks and/or WMV files without permission is a violation of international copyright laws. SAFETY: · Vibration experienced during walking or exercising will not affect the player. However, dropping the player or dropping a heavy object on the player may result in damage or sound distortion. · Do not leave the player in a location near heat sources; in a location subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, sand, moisture, rain or mechanical shock; on an unlevel surface; or in a car with the windows closed during periods of excessive heat. [. . . ] Click on the "Sync List" pull-down menu to locate the music files you wish to download. Select the "Disney Mix-Max" or "Disney Mix-Max Internal/External Storage (if insert the SD/MMC Card)" to copy to from the right side drop-down menu. Click "Start Sync" to start transferring music files to the player. After finished transferring all the desired files to your unit, follow the "Safely Remove Hardware" procedure on page 20. NOTES: · For WMA files with DRM 10, you can only use WMP 10 to transfer files to your player. · For WMA files with DRM 10, the files will not be played if you transfer the files into the SD/MMC card's memory. You must transfer the WMA files with DRM 10 to the player's internal memory for playback. · For Windows ME and Windows 2000, please use Windows Media Player 9 to transfer WMA files with DRM 9 to the For Windows 98SE, please visit player. www. Microsoft. com to download the corresponding Windows Media Player to transfer music files to the player. · If the song with DRM is expired, the display will show "Song Expired". · If a song with the Mix It feature is transferred to the unit, the Mix It logo " " or " " will appear next to the file name on the unit.

CREATING A PLAYLIST USING WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 (FOR WINDOWS XP ONLY) Follow the steps below to create a playlist in the Mix Max's Music menu, using WMP (Windows Media Player) 10: 1. Slide the Hold switch to the Unlock position (right) to cancel the Hold function; the Lock icon will disappear from the lower right corner of the screen. If you attempt to turn on the unit when the unit is locked, the display 1 1 will start up for a few seconds and then turn off. Please slide the Hold switch to the Unlock position (right) and turn on the unit again. 22

This unit supports the following audio formats: MP3, MPEG 1/2/2. 5 Layer 3 with a bit rate of 32-320 kbps and WMA files or WMA with DRM 9 or 10 with a bit rate of 48-192 kbps.

Turn the unit on and access the main menu as described on page 21. Select the Music icon (shown above) using the Navigation/ Search Right button 1, followed by the Enter/Play/Pause ®p button 2.
Use the Navigation/Skip Up 1 and/or Down 2 buttons to browse through the music categories: All Songs, Card (if an SD/MMC memory card is inserted), Albums, Artists, Genre or Playlist (created by WMP 10). Then press the Enter/ Play/Pause ®p button 3 to select that category.
NOTES: · You can pause playback at anytime by pressing the Enter/Play/Pause ®p button; the Pause icon will appear on screen and the song will remain paused until the button is pressed again. · See pages 16-19 for information on uploading MP3 and WMA files to this unit. · TO AVOID DAMAGE, make sure the unit is OFF before inserting or removing the SD/MMC memory card. · To set the Audio Play Mode (Repeat) setting refer to page 34.

During playback, press and hold the Navigation/Search Right 1 or Left 2 button to move the player forward or backward within a file to locate a specific musical passage. The player will move forward or backward at high speed as long as the button is held. [. . . ] · Video and Picture Mode: While playing the Video or slideshow, if you press, or press and hold, the Mix It button, the unit will keep playing the video or slideshow and there will be no effect.

NOW PLAYING AND CLEARING A PLAYLIST Press the Enter/Play/Pause ®p button to select the Now Playing icon (see Figure 1). (If the Mix Max has just been turned on, "No Songs" will appear when the Now Playing icon is selected. ) Select "Now Playing" if you want to view the playback screen, Random playlist, Custom playlist or Mix It playlist. You can also press the Enter/Play/Pause ®p button to select the song inside the playlist. Figure 1
