Consequently, do not use the device in the immediate vicinity of water - for example near a bath tub, a swimming pool or in a damp cellar. When using external mains supply, pay attention to the correct polarity and voltage. [. . . ] Push up the battery compartment lid (9) on the back of the cassette player a short distance and fold it upwards. Put 2 x UM-3 (AA) batteries into the battery compartment in the direction shown. If the device is not used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to avoid the , , spilling" of battery acid. Always change the battery set completely, do not change just one battery. Warning: batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer's. Switch off the device by bringing the function switch (6) into TAPE position or into PWR OFF (power off). Insert a music cassette with the tape facing upwards and the side you wish to hear facing forwards. Close the cassette compartment again (the or button must be switched off before the cassette compartment is opened if you want to insert or remove a music cassette). The Fast Forward button (2) can be used to wind the cassette forwards. At the end of the tape the cassette player automatically switches off all tape play functions. In order to stop the cassette before the end of the tape is reached, press the STOP button. The device is switched off as soon as the Stop button is activated and the function switch is set to PWR OFF. ⷠThe belt clip (4) can be used to clip the machine to a belt or similar object in order to carry it. You can operate the machine via the DC socket (10) with a DC3V mains adapter. When purchasing such an adapter, please make sure of the following: · This automatically interrupts the electricity supply from the batteries.
