[. . . ] Assemble the device in such a way that the available ventilation openings are not covered. Should the device become damaged, in particular the mains supply cable, do not operate the device any longer, but rather have it repaired by an expert. For safety reasons a broken or damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an equivalent lead from the manufacturer, our customer service department or a similary qualified person. [. . . ] Make sure that the old batteries are disposed of in a environmentally compatible manner. FM Stereo LED/Switch The LED (6) lights up if a broadcasting station is received in stereo quality. Remove the transport protection from the CD player if present before use. Switch-off The device is off if the FUNCTION switch (16) is in TAPE/POWER OFF position and the tape functions are off. The desired frequency band can be selected with the BAND selector (3). In USW/FM mode pull out the telescopic antenna (2) and turn it to improve reception. To switch off the radio, shift the function switch (FUNCTION/POWER OFF, 16) to the middle position. Insert a recorded audiocassette with the tape opening facing up and the side to be played facing to the back in the deck (full reel on the right). Wind the tape back or forward with the or keys (9/10) ( = forward; = rewind). Always press the Stop/Eject key í (11) when switching between functions or to stop the tape. By pressing the Stop/Eject key í (11) the cassette deck cover opens. Insert an audiocassette with the side to be played facing out (full reel on the right). Make sure that both the erase protection tabs on the cassette are not broken; otherwise recording is not possible. The recording can be briefly stopped with the Pause key II (12) or stopped completely with the Stop/Eject key í (11). After a few seconds the display shows the total number of tracks on the CD. With the SKIP/SEARCH keys you skip forward or backward from one track to another by pressing the relevant key briefly. By keeping the key pressed, you can search through the track (FR = back; FF = forward). PLAY/PAUSE As the CD plays press once = pause (the PLAY/PAUSE display (C) flashes). [. . . ] Motor pistons, kneading blades, drive shafts, spare remote control, spare toothbrushes, saw blades, etc. ) as well as cleaning, maintenance or the replacement of said parts are not covered by the warranty and hence are to be paid!After the expiry of the warranty repairs can be carried by the competent dealer or repair service against the payment of the ensuing costs.
