[. . . ] Assemble the device in such a way that the available ventilation openings are not covered. Should the device become damaged, in particular the mains supply cable, do not operate the device any longer, but rather have it repaired by an expert. For safety reasons a broken or damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an equivalent lead from the manufacturer, our customer service department or a similary qualified person. If the device is not used for a longer period, remove the plug connector from the plug socket or take out the batteries. [. . . ] With the band selector switch (20) you can select the desired frequency band. The stereo control lamp (21) only lights up if you have selected FM stereo and are receiving the station in stereo quality. If reception is too weak and there is interference, it is possible that the stereo control lamp will not light up. Try to improve reception by turning, bending and altering the length of the aerial. On this frequency band all programmes are transmitted only in "mono". Insert an audiocassette into the compartment with the tape facing forwards and the side you wish to listen to facing forwards (full reel on the left). When switching from one function to another, or in order to stop the cassette, always press the STOP/EJECT button (16). In order to interrupt playback for a short time, press the PAUSE button (17). Press the PAUSE button for a second time in order to continue playback. Insert an audiocassette with the side on which you wish to record facing forwards (full reel on the left). Ensure that the cassette is not copy-protected (the copy protection tab on the top narrow side of the cassette must not have been removed). Select the source from which you wish to record with the function switch (23) and then start playback from this source if necessary. The sound source which you are listening to is the one from which the recording is made. The recording can be interrupted briefly by pressing the PAUSE button (17), or stopped with the STOP/EJECT button (16). Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing upwards onto the central cone until the CD locks in place. Within a few seconds the total number of songs/tracks is shown in the display (9). Description of the CD Buttons: PLAY/PAUSE (1): When pressed once, this button briefly interrupts playback. SKIP DOWN (2): By pressing this button once you can jump to the previous track. REPEAT: Press once: The current song is repeated continually (a dot appears in the display behind the track number). Press twice: The entire CD is repeated continually (a DOT appears in the display behind the track number) Press three times: The function is deactivated and the CD is played in the normal mode.
