Should the device become damaged, in particular the mains supply cable, do not operate the device any longer, but rather have it repaired by an expert. For safety reasons a broken or damaged mains lead may only be replaced by an equivalent lead from the manufacturer, our customer service department or a similary qualified person. If the device is not used for a longer period, remove the plug connector from the plug socket or take out the batteries. [. . . ] POWER/ON (19, or 2 on the remote control): This switches the music centre between normal operation and the standby mode. vOLUME (2 , or 1 on the remote control): For adjusting the individual volume. PHONES (headphone connection) (15): When you connect the plug of a set of headphones to the headphone socket the loudspeakers are switched off. If your headphone plug is not the right size, please use a suitable adapter. Infrared remote control: For operating the music centre from a distance of up to 5 metres without a lead. When operating the music centre with the remote control, ensure that there are no obstacles between the remote control and the infrared receiver of the music centre. mUTE (3 on device or 11 on the remote control): it is used to zero rapidly the volume. Switch the music centre to standby using the POWER button (19, or 2 on the remote control). Press the I / I button (5/10, or 7 on the remote control) until the correct hour is reached. When this button is pressed once, the display increases by only one number. Press the MEMORY/CLOCK button (8 on the remote control) when you are ready to store your settings. Please note that the display only flashes for a few seconds in each case. If the adjustment is interrupted and the display stopped flashing, adjustment of the time has to be started again from the beginning. Note: If the entire time display is flashing, the stored time has been lost, possibly as a result of a power cut, and has to be set again. Use the SKIP/SEARCH buttons, I = forwards (10) and I = reverse (5) to tune into the desired radio station. If reception is too weak and there is interference on the station being received, try to improve reception by turning, bending and altering the length of the aerial. In this frequency band all programmes are transmitted only in "mono". To save a selected radio station, press first the PROG/MEMORY key (6). Now select the desired storage location using the M-UP/REPEAT button (9). To recall a saved radio station, press the M-UP/REPEAT key (9 on the device and on the remote control).
