Make sure the cartridge is aligned against the back of the holder, then press the blue lock lever down completely. The BJ cartridge locks into position. Swanlund UPDATE2> August 13 '98 8 Close the printer cover. CARTRIDGE BUTTON 9 Press the CARTRIDGE button on the operator panel. The cartridge holder then moves to the home position on the right side of the unit. The LCD displays: The MultiPASS C5500 cleans the print head and then displays the date and mode. The printer is now in Standby mode. Unplug the MultiPASS C5500 ONLY when it is in Standby mode (the date and Receive mode show in the display). If you unplug the unit while it is printing, or move the BJ cartridge from the home position, the cartridge will not be capped and may dry out. 13 CANON MPC-5500/QSG, Page 13 - File: 55-QSP13. eps W. On the Fax Information Setup screen, you respond to each entry and press the tab key to move from one entry to the next. When the MultiPASS Desktop Manager is installed, you click Finish to complete setup of the Desktop Manager. Next the Master Installer installs the ODBC interface, which is the DataBase Manager. ScanGear is installed in the C:\Program Files\Canon\ScanGear directory or the directory you specify. When you see the Setup Complete screen, click Finish to complete setup of ScanGear. Swanlund CORREX> August 15 '98 The Setup program allows you to continue with or skip installation of Canon Creative Pro. Be sure to continue with Canon Creative Pro installation to load lots of great software to use with your new MultiPASS C5500. The Setup program allows you to register the MultiPASS C5500 electronically or you can print the information to fax it or mail it. [. . . ] Confirm that the MultiPASS is configured for the correct parallel port in the Details tab of the Printer Properties. In addition, confirm that there are no port conflicts in the Device Manager tab of the Systems Properties. Remove any pass-through devices, switch boxes, zip devices, tape backups, docking stations, scanners, and any software associated with these products. The software drivers for these products are customarily executed from the Load and Run lines of the computer's Win. ini or the Startup Group. [. . . ]
