English ESD precautions Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage your processor, disk drives, expansion boards, and other components. Always observe the following precautions before you install a computer component: 1 2 Do not remove a component from its protective packaging until you are ready to install it. Wear a wrist grounding strap and attach it to a metal part of the computer before handling components. If a wrist strap is not available, maintain contact with the computer throughout any procedure requiring ESD protection. Your computer's power management function automatically blanks the screen to save power. Make sure the printer cable is connected securely to the system's parallel or USB port and the corresponding port on the printer. You can also press the volume control/mute knob on your USB keyboard to toggle from mute to sound on. If headphones, earphones or external speakers are connected to the lineout jack of your computer, the internal or built-in speakers are automatically turned off. · System cannot read diskette, hard disk, CD or DVD information.
