Advantages/Benefits To Customer
Consistent, improved finishes 3M Trizact CF Belt features a macroreplicated matrix of resin and aluminum oxide mineral on a flexible X weight cloth backing. [. . . ] Depending on hip design or style, this abrasive step may be refined by additional coated abrasives grades, possibly down to a grade P400. On some hip designs the scale and minor defect removal step may be the only coated abrasive step. However, it may be followed by a Scotch-BriteTM Wheel or blast media to achieve the final finish. Using 3MTM TrizactTM CF Belt for defect removal and scratch refinement as necessary will provide longer life and a high quality, more consistent finish than conventional coated abrasives. 3M Trizact CF Belt in grades A160 and A100 will typically be used on hip stems in the scale or minor defect removal application. Grades A65 and A45 are used for refining previous abrasives steps and producing the final finish.

Contact Wheel Selection
Trizact CF Grades A160 and A100 Contact Wheel Durometer Hard (6070) Contact Wheel Serration Pattern Mild (1:1) Comments Can provide increased cut for the scale removal step. Caution: excessive contact wheel serration can cause premature mineral wear or macro-structure breakdown. Caution: on soft contact wheels (under 50 shore A durometer) there may not be enough pressure generated to break down Trizact CF structures adequately to maintain desired cut rate. In extreme low pressures it may result in product dulling until it quits cutting altogether.
